Questions

How many days do I need in El Chaltén?

Five is right for the two big lakes with a spare day. With fewer, one windy day can cost you one of them.

What is the Viedma Glacier day for?

Resting the legs between the two long hikes, and as a spare: if the Laguna de los Tres day comes in very windy, we swap the order.

Do I need mountain experience?

No. The hardest day is Laguna de los Tres: about 20 km and 890 metres of climbing, at an easy pace.

Can the order of the days change?

Yes. We arrange it around the forecast: if a day looks very windy, we move the big hike to the best day.

What if I travel alone?

You can: the room is yours and you hike with the group. The price is in the table, under "Travelling alone".

Are the hikes in a group?

Yes, in small groups of up to 8 with a mountain guide. If you would rather have a guide just for you, we can do that too.

How fit do I need to be?

Able to walk 6 to 8 hours in a day, with climbs. No mountain experience needed. If in doubt, write to us and we will look at it.

Which hotel will I stay at?

A hotel of the package’s category, in town, with breakfast. We confirm which one when you book, depending on availability for your dates.

How do I pay?

A deposit to confirm and the rest before the trip, in dollars or pesos. We send you the details on WhatsApp.
