The journey begins in Rio Electrico bridge , following the trails that slowly lead us away from the village and into the mountains. As we gain elevation, the valley opens behind us, revealing the traces left by ancient glaciers that shaped this landscape thousands of years ago.
The trail continues through quiet lenga forests, home to native birds and sheltered by the granite peaks of the Fitz Roy massif. Along the way, the mountains begin to appear — Saint Exupéry, Poincenot, Mermoz, Guillaumet and the unmistakable silhouette of Fitz Roy.
After reaching Río Blanco, the historic base camp for climbers, we begin the most demanding section of the day: the final ascent over the moraine. Step by step, the landscape transforms until Laguna de los Tres suddenly appears beneath the immense granite walls and glaciers of Fitz Roy.
Before returning through Laguna Capri, we take time to stop, observe and understand this wild environment — a place where ice, rock and weather continue shaping Patagonia every day.
