Discover the remote landscapes surrounding Estancia Cristina on horseback, following historic routes once travelled by Patagonia’s early pioneers.
Accompanied by experienced local guides, these expeditions cross open steppe, native lenga forests, mountain streams and glacial valleys framed by the Andes.
Different routes are available according to your experience and interests, from gentle rides through the Caterina Valley to longer mountain expeditions overlooking Upsala Glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.
Each route reveals a different side of the estancia, from quiet wetlands and wildlife-rich lagoons to elevated viewpoints surrounded by glaciers and mountains.
The experience begins at Estancia Cristina, where you will meet your guide, receive a safety briefing and be matched with a horse according to your riding experience.
From the stables, the journey continues through the Caterina Valley, crossing open steppe, native forests, mountain streams and landscapes shaped by ancient glaciers. Depending on the selected route, the ride may reach Laguna de la Pesca, Pearson Lake or Cascada de los Perros.
Along the way, there will be time to rest, enjoy the scenery and discover the natural and pioneer history of the estancia. After exploring one of its most remote corners, we return on horseback to Estancia Cristina, completing an unforgettable journey through the Patagonian wilderness.
